How to Download and Install Unisphere Server Software for Dell EMC Storage Systems
Unisphere Server Software is a web-based application that allows you to manage and monitor multiple Dell EMC storage systems from a single interface. It provides you with a comprehensive view of the status, activity, and resources of your storage systems, as well as the ability to perform various administrative tasks.
In this article, we will show you how to download and install Unisphere Server Software for your Dell EMC storage systems, such as VNX, CLARiiON, or Unisphere Central.
Step 1: Download Unisphere Server Software from Powerlink
Powerlink is a website that provides access to software downloads, documentation, and support for Dell EMC products. You can download the latest version of Unisphere Server Software from Powerlink by following these steps:
Go to https://powerlink.emc.com and log in with your credentials.
Click on Support, then Software Downloads and Licensing, then Downloads T-Z, then Unisphere Server Software.
From the Unisphere Server Software page, select the option that matches your server operating system type and click on the link to download. The file types are located in the column to the right of the software download.
If you also need Unisphere Service Manager (USM), which is a tool that helps you install, update, and troubleshoot your storage systems, you can download it from the same page by clicking on Unisphere Service Manager (USM).
If you have any issues with accessing Powerlink or downloading the software, you can send an email to powerlink@emc.com to get assistance.
Step 2: Install Unisphere Server Software on your server
Once you have downloaded the Unisphere Server Software file, you can install it on your server by following these steps:
Extract the file to a temporary location on your server.
Run the setup.exe file as an administrator.
Follow the instructions on the installation wizard to complete the installation.
If you are installing Unisphere Server Software for VNX or CLARiiON storage systems, you will need to enter the IP address or hostname of one or more storage processors (SPs) that you want to manage with Unisphere. You can also enter a domain name if you want to join a Unisphere domain.
If you are installing Unisphere Server Software for Unisphere Central, you will need to enter the IP address or hostname of the Unisphere Central server that you want to connect to.
If you are installing Unisphere Service Manager (USM), you will need to accept the certificate from the catalog server when prompted. This is because by default, the colu.emc.com certificate is not installed in Java.
After the installation is complete, you can launch Unisphere Server Software from the Start menu or from your web browser by entering https://:8443/Unisphere/ in the address bar.
