During her time at the University of Arizona, BJ was introduced to the sculpture studio, as well as the benefit of working with some of the most respected artists of the world. In response to the advanced techniques and sculptural interpretations the studio offered her, BJ dedicated herself completely to her passion and in 1984, graduated from the Sculpture Department with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. BJ studied at the Accademia de Bella Arti di Carrara in Italy, and studied with master sculptor Enzo Pasquini, one of the most well known sculptors in the world. BJ received the first prize in the Carrara marble competition in 1985.In the future, BJ plans to explore other sculptural techniques, and materials. She is also looking forward to furthering her education through a study of the human body and anatomy. She is particularly fond of the female nude because of the beauty and sensuality of the form. Her study of the human figure, is, in reality, a study of life itself. BJ's work is a reflection of her studies of nature and human nature.

BJ's studies in the art field began as an art major in college. For the last five years she has worked with renowned master sculptors to study different techniques and interpretations of the sculptural art form.

In February of 2004, I began working for the American Museum of Natural History, in Manhattan, New York. I am now a full time sculptor for the museum and independent contractor for the Museum of Natural History. This is where I have come to work my creative life. I feel privileged to be working in such a world class museum where my art is displayed with the most incredible and diverse art from around the world. Being a part of that museum has allowed me to continue my time consuming and relentless pursuit of my artistic career.
